Hi folks! I’m Emily.

I work at The Washington Post and on the weekends volunteer at the Smithsonian American Art Museum. I married my high school sweetheart, James. We live in Arlington, Va. right across the bridge from Georgetown.

I started food blogging after reading washingtonpost.com’s food blog, A Mighty Appetite’s Valentines Day post. But you can also read my own interpretation of why I love to cook. .

I genuinely enjoy baking, fruit, wine, traveling, art history, museums and learning. I’d like to create more cooking videos, if only I had the time! What’s an idealistic long term goal for this blog? Open up a quaint cafe back in North Carolina that serves fabulous coffee, teas and baked goods which also provides a space for people to meet, talk and laugh. But let’s just reiterate the “idealistic” part of that goal. For now, I’m loving learning about and exploring all things food.
