I meant to use three cans of northern white beans for an asparagus and white bean matzo ball soup. But once I added the veggies and matzo balls the beans felt like too much. However, I still had cans of white beans in my cabinet and needed to do something with them!

One way to ring in the warm weather is to spice up a regular fish filet with some fresh salsa! I combined a recipe for tilapia with the peach salsa. James commented that although the parmesan and salsa tastes blended well, there is room for improvement in blending the two flavors. Next time I’d like [...]

This was the main dish for Passover this year. I would rate it a 8 out of 10. However, since I had a ton leftover, James and I ate it for two nights after and on those nights it was a 10 out of 10! The extra time it had to marinate and soak up [...]

Ingredients
Recipe courtesy Bon Appetit
for the torte
2 2/3 cups semisweet chocolate chips (16 ounces), divided
1 cup salted butter, divided
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tsp instant espresso powder or [...]

I came home with intention of making granola bars. But the pan was too big and the ingredients meant to congeal everything together flooded out onto the baking sheet. So instead I got granola which is equally good! I plan on making this same recipe in a small pan and cutting it into bars.
The other [...]
Raspberry Pecan Tea Cakes

It’s spring! April showers, May flowers. Blueberries, apricots, currants, figs and of course raspberries! The original recipe uses pistachio’s, but since there was the whole pistachio recall recently I substituted in pecans. Speaking of substitution…the original recipe calls for dark brown sugar. I didn’t have any so I used light brown sugar. But afterwards I [...]
